I was fortunate to have grown up active. I was encouraged to 'go outside and play' and to 'join all the teams at school: they were free. It gave me the opportunity to see what I could do and appreciate that the more I did, the more I could do.
This point was really brought home for me when I started to train for the Canadian Iron Distance Triathlon (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km run). I had watched these events on television and always wondered how someone could keep going for 13 + hours. My training showed me that if you make small changes, they all add up, if you ask your body to do a little more today than it did yesterday, it will respond. I learned how to have a goal that seemed impossible and how to develop the small steps that took me from one level, to the next, to the next, until I was standing at the finish line and wearing my medal. Change is not always easy but you can make it happen, one step at a time, and it will be worth it.
Welcome to TriStyle, a place where we welcome a challenge, we welcome change and we've decided that the easy route will no longer suffice.

Personal Trainer Nutrition & Wellness Specialist As a youth I loved playing sports like baseball, basketball, volleyball and badminton for my school teams. As I grew into adolescence I found that I didn't have the time or the motivation to continue with all the activities. Life got busy with a business and new family and everything else just fell aside. My re-introduction to the fitness world came through a woman who was a bikini and figure competitor, she encouraged me to learn about wellness, to run and to eat healthier. I fell back in love with fitness and how it felt to be active and all the benefits that come with that journey. I was in my early thirties and I had found the one thing that I knew was right for me. I took the opportunity to study health, fitness and wellness and was fortunate enough to be surrounded by people that walked the fitness path and wanted to continue to do so and share with me. I now understood what to do, what makes ME happy and I I haave the encouragement to do just that. In 2013 my classmates and I ran in what was my first race, it happened to be TriStyle's Miner's Mayhem, I finished in 48:56 and was very proud to wear my miner's helmet. Being part of the TriStyle team has shown me what a true fitness family is....we support each other....we talk to each other....we express our feelings and passions....our failures and our triumphs.....we will always have our hearts an our doorsopen....we are a family! |

My healthy lifestyle journey began 13 years ago. My first challenge was to figure out how to get off the couch and out of the fridge. I started by walking around my block early in the morning so that I wouldn’t get noticed. It worked because it was cost-effective and I felt safe in the early morning darkness close to home.
I knew I needed some help with my nutrition so I joined Weight Watchers, with great success. I 'graduated' and became a member of the facilitating team where I strengthened my support and motivational skills. I thouroughly enjoyed the 12 years I worked with and inspired others to reach their weight -loss goals.
I have been successful at maintaining my weight loss, 85lbs, and of developing a healthy lifestyle. I now regularly include a wide variety of activities like running, cycling, swimming, functional fitness, outdoor fun during all seasons and even a little Zumba.
This experience and my ongoing quest for knowledge gave me the confidence to start working on achieving my personal goal of opening a studio. A place where I could include all ages, abilities and fitness levels, where they could come together under one roof and feel like they belong to a community. TriStyle was established in the summer of 2011 and we are happy to see our membership grow and welcome people that have decided that easy will no longer suffice.
